Call Me.....

~POKER QUEEN~

I'm sorry Chris...next time I will let you win!
Let me tell you about our "Thomas Poker Night!" So we decided to get together and play last night since everyone could be there (Me, Chris, Mamaw, Papaw, Karen, Bob, and Chelsea). SO let me give you a little insight to some of these players.
  • Mamaw: if she goes IN, you better get OUT! She has something good!
  • Papaw: If he's throwing in big money, he's bluffing!
  • Bob: Normally gets down to nothing, comes back and then wipes everyone out!
  • Chris: he don't play unless he's got a good hand (stingy) and sore loser!
  • Karen: oh man, she's always going to beat you on the RIVER!
  • Chelsea: she plays nice and quietly like me, but she's really good!
  • Me: I don't have a clue what is going on...I confuse myself with the money (it takes me 10 minutes to get my blinds), I will think I am winning with a pair of aces and someone else will have a full house (what IS a full house), and I don't ever assume that I've won (again, I don't have a clue), I just wait and hope that someone pushes all the money my way!
So the game started and of course it can't start without all the smack from my husband. It's in HIS bag before it even starts...yeah right! Well last night, he was the first one out. He went all in with about 675, Bob matched it, Karen rubbed a little "wicka"(aka..good luck) on the last card and he beat him on the River. BUT..not before Karen beat him 4 times on the river. Woo, poor Chris took a beating last night. So as soon as he went out, my luck started to change and my coins starting growing. Well then Bob beat Chelsea and Papaw. So it was 3 women and Bob left....and all that matters after that was that I won!! :) I could wait to get home and tell Chris. And you know he didn't believe me, he named off everyone before he even began to think that I won. So I've decided to retire early from Poker so that I can always have that game title "I BEAT CHRIS"! But we had a great time playing. And Bob, you better not forget that pizza for Wed. night poker!

On another note...we attended Jay Jay's first baby shower in Monroe on Saturday. Our cousin Dena threw it at her house. She always has the craziest, most fun games to play. Little Alli got lots of sweet outfits and goodies. She is going to be so spoiled and prissy! For a while anyway until Noah gets a hold of her, then she will be playing in the dirt and kissing frogs! Here are a few pics from the shower.
Game #1: We were on teams of two, one person was mommy and one was baby. Mommy had to feed the baby and the team that ate the most won! Me and Mom stunk this one up...she wasn't eating quick enough!

Game #2: Diaper changing relay! Quickest wins! We don't have pics, but my team one!

I will have to finish adding the rest of the pics later, but I definately wanted to leave you with these!

Trying to get going

So I've been trying to get busy working on Jay's baby shower. For some reason I just haven't been able to get motivated to get moving and working! Probably because I am the worlds worst at procrastinating and I just know it will all come together. :) Ha, I sure hope so. Here are a few of my ideas that I finally got started on last night. http://showeringjamieandalli.blogspot.com/2009/01/testing-waters.html I just love working on showers and parties. I actually graduated wanting to be a planner (wedding, shower, party, whatever). Well I guess I am, I just don't get paid for it. But that's just fine. I enjoy every minute of planning for these fun events.
My big boy has been sleeping in his big boy bed all week. Even though he acted like he was trying to get sick again, I still left him in there. And he has done great. I have the video monitor and I love to get in bed at night and just lay there and watch him. Because it's black and white, it almost makes it look like his sonogram pics. Like I'm watching him in my belly! However, if he was and he kicked now, I would be HURTING!! And I definatley would be asking for a C-Section! I feel like we've hit so many milestones in the last week or so. First teeth, finally sleeping in his big boy bed, rolling from side to side almost over, sitting up and playing by himself on the floor, testing out sippy cups, and his sweet little personality is growing, and growing! He is so fun and happy! And he loves when his daddy feeds him. Oh wait...last night I fed him pea...which he's eaten before, but last night, he was driving his daddy crazy. First, Chris made the mistake of leaving the cup of food on the highchair while he tried to get a rag (Which I have done before) and what do you think Noah did? Yep he dug right in, and decided he would feed himself. It was all over the place. Then he would take a bite, spit it out. Chris would clean his face up and try it again...same thing. Finally Chris said, "Jana, he does NOT like these peas, you are the only one that does". So we had to chunk the peas and pull out the trusty carrots. My little camera is broke or I would have lots of great pics of all of that.
Speaking of Chris, let me tell you about last night. He's been playing a video game called Fallout 3. Some of you ladies will probably know exactly what I am talking about, and probably more than you'd like. So I try not to watch these games, they are all pretty boring to me (well except Call of Duty..I love that game), but this one has consume Chris' life for the past week, and also our TV time. Good thing there hasn't been anything major on lately. Rachel, I'm going to have to send him to your house when Idol comes on next week. But all I know about this game is....you start from birth, pick what you look like, decided if you want to be good or bad, and then you just go killing people and things that are contaminated. I guess! I do know that you can get bottlecaps and they will give you money. Well, last night, way after I had been in bed, I kinda woke up and this is how the (sleep) conversation went:
Chris: "Don't move, don't move, don't move! Trust me I know what I'm doing, do not make a move! Be still!
Jana: "What!! What is it?" (laying in mid movement, scared to death now)
Chris: "Just don't move, be still! I've got to figure out how to do this, Just Trust me!"
Jana: "Chris, what is it! What are you doing?"
Chris: (mumbling)
Chris: "It's bottlecaps! There are bottlecaps EVERYWHERE! Don't move!"
Jana: "HA HA HA"
Chris: (hits pillow) and ZZZZZZ's (snoring)
He's so dramatic. He can't just talk nicely in his sleep. He's got to be on the battle field, or running around thinking that he's late for work! Oh goodness! Pray for me!
Here are a few pics of my man from last week.

You think he likes his food? It's definately not peas!
I asked him if I could see his new teefies and this is what he said! NO!

Tomorrow's The Day....

I have to go back to work and Noah goes back to Dorothys. He will be extremely thrilled, but mommy will still be wishing that she was still in bed, or in her jammies all day. Two weeks just wasn't enough :)! I really felt like I was running the whole time though. And Christmas literally just slid ride by. All we did was blink and it was gone. Maybe next year we will be a little more prepared.
On another note.....we have 2 teeth coming in. I can not believe it. I feel like he's all grown up now. Yesterday, Gigi, Pops, and Jay Jay came out to visit, and just when they were leaving, Jay Jay, (which is notorious for sticking her hands in my childs mouth without washing first) said "Jana, there's teeth in there!" First I got on to her for sticking her fingers in there, and of course she said that she "just washed them"....yeah right! So I cleaned my hands and checked it out...and yep. There were two little teefies trying to come on out. They kinda look clear right now, but they are there. Which is exactly why he tries to eat everything in sight. Tonight in the tub, he was chomping down on the bath fishies. And they feel pretty sharp. It's just so hard to believe...! That also explains for him being so fussy lately and clingy. Tonight he was whining even after he had his dinner and bottle. Normally his is chilling by this point but not tonight. all three of us were sitting on the couch...it was Chris, me in the middle and then Noah. We had just sat down with our grilled cheese and he got mad. So I handed Chris my plate so that I could get him comfortable and Noah leaned in to me, like he wanted me to hold him. That's a first. So i picked him up thinking that he would perk up and I could put him back down, but just as soon as I picked him up, he laid that head on my chest, got snuggled and went to sawing logs. Chris said "Wow, that's got to make you feel good, I bet your heart just grew 3 times". And It really did feel great. I really felt like "mommy" for the first time I think. I can't wait to take that first picture with those 2 front teeth. Thanks Jay Jay for discovering our newest milestone. I made sure that I put it in his baby book as soon as I got a chance. And I am trying to get a pic of them right now, but he wants to keep them a secret...sorry!
Another funny...when I will get him up after his nap, he will sit in my lap and act like he's going to go back to sleep. I can say, "night night, go back to sleep" and he will slowly pick his head up and peek his eyes around at me until I say "Oh, he's not asleep, he's wide awake" and he will laugh and do it all over again! We play that game for about 10 minutes! It's so cute.
OH...did I mention that I do NOT want to go back to work? Just checking. Have a great week!

~Chillaxin in 2009~

Happy 2009!
We had a good New Year. We went to some friends house to eat...crawfish pasta, toast, chips and dip, buttermilk pie and a chocolate pie that was the bomb! We didn't think that we'd be getting home at 1:30 am, (I think I was in college the last time I saw that time) but when they pulled out rock band, dance dance revolution and th Wii, our plans went out the door. We are so very glad we stayed, we had a great time. I just can't believe that it's already 2009. That means that in one month I will turn 27 and Chris will be 30!! Wow how time flies when you are having fun...and a baby!
Look at that big boy(Excuse our accident in this next pic)
So Noah and Alli got a cool pimped out Radio Flyer wagon for Christmas. Until Alli gets born and older, we will park it at Noah's crib and see how many miles we can put on it. Yesterday was the first day that it felt really nice and warm outside, so we decided to go for a little roll! Look at Noah CHILLAXIN!
And yep, we even managed to talk Jay Jay and Alli into climbing in

Of course we had to go say Hello to the pups! They love little kids! And he likes dogs to..not scared one bit. If you look close, Zoey is actually sticking her tongue out at him.
I took some sweet little pictures of him the other day playing in his bed. As you can see in the picture, we can barely see him sitting up over the rail. He's getting to be such a big boy.
So we decided to re-create some Christmas pics of Noah before we put up the tree since we lost the real ones. I'm sorry if I'm getting on anyones nerves about this, but my heart is still so very broken. Everyday I think about more pictures that were on there that were not backed up!

HE'S CAUGHT.....GUILTY GUILTY!
He's been trying to put that thumb in his mouth and most of the time he will only do it when he is tired and trying to go to sleep, but not this time!

And I have a big suprise in the next blog...coming soon!
