~Suprise....It's a BOY!~

Chris and I had a wonderful birthday yesterday. We found out that we were having a baby boy. We are so excited. This is the first little boy on my House side. I have absolutely no clue what to do with a little boy, but I am so anxious to start this journey. My doctor said that everything looked great. He weighs about 10 oz. right now. During the ultrasound he flipped over twice. The nurse was going to get the measurements first, but she didn't get too far into it before he showed his prized possessions to us all. Now we really have to get started on picking a name!

Waiting to find out......

WOW!

It's definately a BOY!

He flipped over.....

It's real!

He's proud of it!

All stretched out...

Snuggler!

Tink and Momma, thanks for going with us to find out and we missed you Glenda!

~Scrapping~

I absolutely love to scrapbook. I haven't worked on anything in a LONG time, but I do have my wedding scrapbook (which is already 3 years behind) on my agenda. My goal is to have my scrapbook done before the baby gets here. I do not want to be 2 books behind. One is bad enough! I love to help with showers and parties and especially when in comes to invites. The first thing that pops into my mind is making them. So I thought I'd share a few of the latest invites that I've made. I just hope that they make mom as excited as they do me! Hope you enjoy! ***Oh by the way, One more week and we'll find out what we are having***

This is a video from Valentine's day. The ladies in the office (which there are 4 of us) sent our boss a singing telegram!

Wow......It's really a baby in there!

On Saturday, I was sitting on the couch watching House reruns when all of a sudden I started feeling something weird. It reminded me of popcorn popping in my lower belly. It did it about 3 times. I thought that it was the baby moving. On Monday after lunch, It was verified.....it was definately baby. The same exact spot, just harder. How exciting! It's really real. It's such an amazing feeling. Jack asked if i cried...but no, to excited to cry. I'll keep everyone updated.

This is definately me with my pickes and pickle chips!

~Belly Pics~

Tonight before dinner at Jay's (which by the way was de-lish) i noticed a rash on my belly. My belly in general has been itching extremely bad since this weekend. Come to think about it, there's always something itching, like my foot right now. Anyway, all I can think of is that maybe I was scratching there too hard. There are no bumps, it's smooth. I just never really noticed that area itching. Probably so though! After I took my belly pics tonight, I thought I'd add a few of the others that I had from earlier. Happy Mardi Gras!

What A Morning!

Well, as everyone knows, this morning was very icey and nasty. On my way to work I noticed that ther was already a wreck on the overpass, and there was no traffic moving. They were adding sand/salt to the road. I hate to have this weather. Most of us Louisiana people don't have a lot of experience driving in this condition. So I head through town trying to get to work safely (and on time). I am sitting at the red light on Alabama waiting to turn left when someone hits me from behind! GREAT!! What a way to start a morning! Thankfully, we were all ok. It was a young girl that hit me and she had a few other girls in there with her. It really just scared the mess out of me. There was a trooper off duty that saw it happen. The girls were trying to get to school and it was pretty much 8:00, and I think she may have just been going too fast and she said that her brakes locked up on her. My airbags didn't pop out, so I didn't consider it a hard hit. Just scarey and unexpected. I am just thankful that it wasn't worse. So, now we have to wait until the police report will be ready....Monday! So until then I have a bum car. It's driveable, and it doesn't look like there's much damage, it just sounds like crap. I had to move it and I thought the whole car was going to fall apart like a cartoon. Of course it wasn't that bad, but hey! I have a pic for you. The bumper is all scratched up and cracked. The spare tire underneath is about to fall off and the pipe thingy is hanging down. That's all that we know is wrong as of right now.

Dr. Appointment # 3

Although the wait was pretty long, the visit was really short. But extremely exciting. I did the usual when I got in. And to my suprise I'd only gained 2 lbs. May be a lot to some people, but perfect for me. I just knew going in after this month, that is was going to be BAD! I guess since I've had a little "morning sickness" come back, that helped. Then Chris and I were able to see the doctor and hear the heartbeat for the first time. It was great! 164 beats a minute (I guess that's what they call it). It definately made the whole "Mommy and Daddy" thoughts real. We'll find out on February 22 (Chris and my birthday.....just to remind everyone) exactly what type of bun we have in the oven. BOY? or GIRL? We can't wait to find out, we just need to get a start on names. Still open for suggestions!! Have a great weekend! (here's a pic from last night, my belly looked huge, it's amazing how sometimes especially after you eat it sticks out further)

Our First Fireplace

When Chris and I were in town yesterday, we decided to stop by Lowe's. I love going there. When we walked in, we noticed that all of their fireplace mantel, inserts, logs and more were 50% off. Chris has been bugging me for a long time about putting in a ventless gas fireplace, so this seemed like his perfect opportunity to persuade me. So we left with the mantel, and insert, all we have to get is a log set for the inside. They didn't have anymore of them. Although, I'm not quite sure where we will put it, I'm actually quite excited about it. It should heat up to 1,100 sq. feet. Hopefully this way, the electricity bill will not be quite as high. And...we will be able to hang stockings on the mantel....that makes me even more excited. Chris is already trying to decide what he will tell his kids when they ask how Santa came in through the fireplace, when we have no chimney! You should've heard his ideas. I'm going to have to let him figure that one out!

mantel finished

now, where to put it

~2nd Doctor's Visit~

Well we had out 2nd visit to the doc on Thursday. This visit was much quicker than the last one. My doctor was the only one working this week in the clinic so we were in and out in about 30 minutes. It was great! I had to the do the usual (tinkle, weigh-in, blood pressure) and since I am only 10 weeks this week and it's too early to hear the heartbeat from the outside of my belly, she had to do the vaginal ultrasound again. I asked her a few questions and she showed us the baby and that was pretty much the gist of the visit. I've posted the picture at two angles. The first one is the way that she showed it to us; however, I posted it the other way because it looks more like a baby. It's up to you to decide what you think. . Chris was so shocked to see the difference in size since the last visit. We are extremely excited. Can't wait to find out what it will be. Oh, by the way, my husband has it in his head that we are going to name our "little boy" a super hero name. If you happen to see him or talk to him, please reassure him that out "little one" will NOT have super powers. Enjoy!

First One (Doctor's pic)
She said that the head is at the top and the backbone is the curve on the left. And that the baby is curled up.

Second (My pic)

Now the head is on the far right and the belly is in the center and the legs are stretched out. Looks like a little boy to me!

~We Need Ideas~

Since I haven't been feeling so well, Chris and I have skipped out on thinking about anything else baby! Since we've had people asking about names, we thought that we might need to get started on it. We are looking for ideas from everyone, so please e-mail us or leave us a comment below and let us know your ideas and thoughts on names for girls and boys.

There's Only One!! It's Official!

Chris and I had our first Doctor's visit yesterday at 3:00. We finally got in about 4:30ish. I was getting so nervous because my belly was growling. When it growls it means business. We finally got back and I had to do a series of tests, but not bad. They put us in a room to wait for the doctor, and I had to get dressed for my "girly" test. Chris was so nervous, when the doctor came in he kind of hid out in the corner closest to the door. I guess he was gonna be ready to make a run for it if he needed to. Then she directed him to get closer for the ultra sound. She looked first and then showed us our little peanut! We are only 6 weeks and 5 days today. I just knew I was 9-10 weeks and almost through with the morning sickness. But that's ok. It was so neat seeing it. As of right now, we have a due date of July 20, 2008. How exciting. The little peanut between the plus signs will be BABY THOMAS!

P.S. Here's a little show that Chris and I have put on for you! Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
