A Good Week

So far, we've had a great "transition" week at our new school. I was so worried all weekend about how he was gonna react to the new place and what I was gonna do if he cried on me. Thank goodness he did pretty good. We talked all weekend and morning about how excited we were to be going to a new, big school with Alli and Bubba and how he was gonna get to learn his ABC's and 123's! I made sure we stayed PUMPED!! I also made sure that we got there the same time Jamie did with the kids so that they could all go in together. They all ran in and when he got in the door good he said "hey, what is this?" We walked on back to sign in and the clingy-ness began. I've never had so many tight hugs before!! He got really shy and quiet. We walked around while Alli and Bubba ate their breakfast, and then Alli REALLY helped me out. She came in the room with us and played with him. We got out the blocks and a few minutes later, the other Noah came over to play too. I got up to try to ease out and he caught me a few times...but when he really got to playing I told him I'd be right back, I need to go pay....but by the time I got to the front, I knew there was no way I could go back....for him or for me!

I called right before lunch and Mrs. Tina said that he was doing really good. He did circle time, and was at his table doing his work (he told me later he colored a blue bus), and that they were watching a little video right before lunch. So I felt a lot better. No joke, I think that was the longest day of my life!! 5:00 could not get here fast enough. So when I got there to pick him up, I wasn't sure what to expect from him. And guess what he did....went to squalling! Someone told me that it was just his way of realizing he missed me. But a hug and a few tears later, he was fine and running out the door with the Hancock 2. They said he had a good day. He drank out of a big boy cup, AND made it through nap time with no accident, but was having so much fun on the playground, that he did have an accident. But hey...so far it's the only one all week. (I better knock on so wood now) So when I got him in the car the first thing he said was (while being extremely serious at first) "Mommy, you lost me today!!" I couldn't help but laugh...he was trying to say that I left him. So I had to explain that I had to go to work and I needed him to stay at school to learn and play with all of his friends. And he kept acting extremely, hyperly excited, so I asked what he was excited about, and he said "you!" So although he missed his mommy and she "lost" him that morning...he still had a great day. We talked about it all the way home and he was all smiles. He even told me that he wanted to bring Mrs. Dorthy to his school with him. So we made sure to tell her about that when we called to let her know how his day went. She had thought about him all day!

I was a little nervous about day 2. It was either gonna go good or a total melt down since he knew what to expect. But I was so proud! He did good. He was still a little clingy and shy, but he knew that Chris was gonna be picking him up since I would be in class. And we talked all morning about how excited daddy was to see his new school. So he did manage to whip up 1 tear, but he was fine. He gave me kiss and went back to playing with Alli. He told me that him and Alli were going to learn their numbers again. I also learned that morning that he was Miss Laquanna's helper on Monday. He got to add the date to the calender (which were the numbers he was talking about) and got to hold the flag. He told her he wanted to be the helper again. And no accidents!!

Yesterday when I dropped him off, he went straight to eat his breakfast (a first) and was telling Alli "It's ok, it's gonna be ok", because she was crying this morning. My sweet little man, trying to make her feel better since she's been helping him all week.

Update....I knew this was gonna happen...I didn't knock soon enough. He had an accident yesterday. They said he was on his way to the potty and just didn't make it. It's the durn jeans I think. Both days with accidents, he's worn his jeans. We may have to veto those at daycare for a while!

I enjoy picking him up in the afternoons and getting to chat all the way home. This was one of our quick convos yesterday...
Me: Noah, do you LOVE your new school?
Noah: ummmmm NO!
Me: WHAT??
Noah: (while laughing) YES, YES I DO!!
I love when I drop him off in the mornings and to get his mind on something other than me leaving, I ask if he's gonna go play...and he's been saying "Me and Alli are gonna go learn my numbers again." He told me yesterday he learned his numbers 1, 2, and 3. And last night when we were telling daddy about it, Chris' response was "3, he already knew those numbers!" So then I had to explain to my other child that Noah was not the only kid in his class and they weren't gonna change the curriculum and start with number 13 just for him! :)

But so far, I've been so proud and excited for him. He's done great!

Baby Porter on the other hand has had mommy worn out all week. We had an appointment Thursday morning and everything seemed to be going good, and heard his little heartbeat. We will start going every 2 weeks now and the next appt. we will actually go for a quick ultrasound before. Because Noah was such a big baby (9 lbs., 8 oz.), she said we'd probably do another ultrasound around week 37 so that we have a better idea of Porter's size.

We've been having a little braxton hicks going on lately. I remember doing the same thing with Noah. Every little move he makes it seems like my whole stomach just goes tight and heavy!! Tuesday I had a strange lower back pain come from no where. She said that it may have been a muscle spasm. It went away with the help of Tylenol thank goodness. And then that night came back with indigestion/gas and the whole works. I was miserable and honestly got nervous worrying that it was real contractions and I just couldn't remember what the real ones felt like!! Just glad I made it through that night, thanks to my Tylenol, tums and hot bath.

Porter's cute owl quilt came in. I can't wait to get started on his room.

Which leads up to our project we have going on right now....the entertainment center. Once we get it finished, it will store a lot of what we have in the extra room right now. Once the center is finished it will be about 12 ft. wide and about the middle piece will be 9 inches from my ceiling!! Good thing this poor wall needed something.

Now moving on the the little details so hopefully the painting can begin soon.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Noah gets to stay with Alli and Bubba tonight, so it will be quiet around my house. And tomorrow is a big poker night for all the guys so Noah and I will probably get to hang out watching Scooby Doo (over and over) and working on homework and the rest of Whitney's wedding pics. Last Day at Dorthys

Today's the day! This is our last day to go to Mrs. Dorthy's! So far, the day hasn't been bad. I'm more worried about 5:00 and picking him up!!

Last night we wrote in Dorthy's card and he drew her a sweet smiley face picture! I was so proud of the little smileys he made.....all by himself! He really worked hard on his masterpiece. We wanted to be sure to let her know how much we will miss her and how thankful we were to have her take care of our little Noah. Check out his "concentration" lips!

Not sure if you can tell, but he has his Batman cape on! Last night I found some Batman pj's that I think were handed down from Amanda and Madden. What a hit!! It had this little cape that velcro'd on and it looked like a little belt. He was in hog heaven! I barely got it on him good and he had one arm up and took off flying. So this morning he insisted on wearing his cape!!

And I was looking back at the blog and found our first day....back at work for me and 1st day at Dorthy's for him. A very overwhelming day for this mommy!!

Noah and Dorthy....3.5 months old!!

Noah's New School

Although it will only be for about 7.5 months, we are making a big change. This Friday will be our last day at Dorthy's Daycare....we will start Little Red Apple on Monday. I never thought we'd leave Dorthy's until we started Pre-K, but within the last year I've done a complete 360 on that thought. I think that there are some kids that don't need the preparation for big school and there are those that do......and Noah is in that category.

There's so many emotions flying right now. I know that he will love it, and have a class full of friends his age. They will be working on language development, pre-reading and writing readiness, math concepts, social skills and more (which of course mom and dad are more excited about). I just don't want him to be mad at me. I know that's stupid, but we've been at Dorthy's for 3.5 years and that's all he knows. I know at first it will be a lot to get use to, but I think he's gonna like it. He's gonna miss his pals Owen, Joe Christian, Madalyn and of course Natalie. Right now he's excited...he keeps talking about going to his new school with Alli and Bubba and the playground! He started talking about going to school this past summer. He kept saying he needed to go to school like JT and do homework. So I hope that he stays excited. Chris and I honestly feel like we've made the right decision my making this change...you just can't help but worry...or at least I can't. I'm such a ~worry wart!~

We've been so blessed to have Dorthy take such great care of our little man. There was never a doubt how much they loved each other and how much she cared. This Friday will be hard....but we will back in about 4.5 months with baby Porter!!

Well there's been no changes to my schooling-like being DONE...unfortunately! I was excited that last night in class, she took the experiments off the syllabus! Thank goodness! One less thing to worry about. Don't you hate when you work your butt off for a due date and when you get to that class, they say "They were due tonight, BUT if you need to turn them in next week, that will be fine!!" Oh that drives me nuts...the good thing is...it's done...there ain't NO WAY I'm taking that mess back home to work on it more! Can't remember if I mentioned lately which class this is, but it's Social Studies/Science methods...my worst subjects! So I am honestly hoping to come out of this class excited about those subjects and good ideas for teaching them. I did my social studies lesson plan on community helpers which was fun!

Since baby Porter will be making his arrival the first of April, I'm gonna sit out Spring quarter. Although I hate to have to do a re-admit form just for one quarter, but we do what we gotta do. This summer I will take my last class, and from there the only thing left will be student teaching. One day! I won't be able to quit my paying, day job, so unless I can find a job teaching and go the intern route...I'll be sitting out again. But if that's all that I have left, I can handle that. I know God will put things in place when it's time. For now, I'm thankful to have a job. But I can't wait to be finished.

We got out of class by 8:00 last night. When I got home, Noah was already in bed...but not asleep! So there's no way I could turn down those sweet hugs and kisses. And boy have they gotten sweet. It's normally like pulling teeth to get a hug, but he's been giving them out for free lately!! For some reason he decided that he didn't want to go back to his bed..he wanted to sleep in his tent. Did I really think he'd sit still long enough to pass out in it...in the living room...I don't think so!! But, I let him try it out. And sure enough, after about 20 minutes of trying to get comfortable and making sure he had every stuffed animal and pillow he could possibly fit in there with him, he did in fact pass out!!

Remember how fun it was to make pallets and tents and sleep in them. I would have to see if chiropractor the next day if I was to try it now...but boy the fun!! And honestly I was gonna let him sleep there. Mainly because I knew he'd be up in a few hours headed toward my room anyway. But when we got down and looked hard, we realized he was sleeping on bare floor practically. I'm gonna have to teach him to make a good, fluffy pallet. It looks like the fluff never made it far enough into the tent to help. When we went to check on him...the flap was down and his empty milk cup was sitting out next to it...like room service!! How thoughtful...because I would've forgotten about it and if we did ever find it..it would have to be tossed. So thank you little No!

Getting a bit freaked out...I hit 29 weeks today!! Although I know it's hard and most people do NOT want to go the whole 40 weeks, but I need all of them!! So I've gotta make the most of the next 11 weeks!! Chris will start on the entertainment center this weekend. I think we're gonna go with this antique white color....

I'd like to eventually redo my kitchen cabinets the same color. But for now, we at least know we're gonna paint, and not worry about staining! So let the fun begin!

I have my 30 week appointment next week and then we'll begin the bi-weekly visits. To me, that's when it all becomes REAL , and I realize he's almost here. But we can't wait! Life's too short to sit around worrying and planing everything out. Some times you just have to go with the flow, which is exactly what we've been doing the last 7 months...haven't had time to stop!!!

3rd Trimester and Projects

Wow, I don't remember hitting the 3rd trimester with Noah and feeling it immediately! This time around...I didn't think I was gonna be able to pull off the 3 day week last week. I feel so worn out and tired for no reason what-so-ever! And all day yesterday, I was feeling sore from the waist (well where it use to be) down. I'm guessing from by body just preparing and getting ready. And this morning I've felt so stinking dizzy. And to top it all off, I'm sure wishing it was summer already...I have a hard time putting on my socks and shoes. The other night we had a few people over and I asked Chris to help pull my cowboy boots off and Nick looked over at Rachel and said "Don't get any ideas!!"

So last night Jordan came by to get Chris to work on her computer and I got her to stop and grab dinner and some night pull ups for Noah. Although we were very appreciative of her...Noah was NOT so happy! She thought it would be funny to get him the princess pullups instead of the manly ones. And honestly, I never thought he would even notice it....but he did!!

He said "These for guhls, I don't want these!! Call Boo Boo and tell her to get my udder ones!" So after calling Boo and telling her how mad he was, and even telling her he loved her, we got this text from Gigi....

And of course, he was then in a better mood. He even woke up this morning telling me to call Boo. But while Boo was still here, we pulled out the baby heart monitor that Noah found and tried to hear baby Porter's heart beat. Nothing was heard but Noah talking. He told Boo that he was gonna help feed baby Porter, but he wasn't doing the "stinky stinky diapers!" He's just started being talking to my belly, but still can't get over the fact of how big it is and keeps telling me to put it back. I can't wait to see how he will react to him.

This is the bedding theme I am gonna try to go with. Hopefully mom and I can get together one weekend and make it all happen. We're just gonna do the bumper and a plain Jane bed skirt so it SHOULDN'T be that complicated, but you never know when I'm involved!!

I always find the best ideas and plans on her website! Someone used a few different plans to construct this and now we're going to make a few changes and build our own. We will actually have two smaller end shelves to hold all of Chris' DVD's and games. We've got to get all of those out of the extra bedroom to begin on Porters room. Now I've just got to decide on a good color to paint it...Not sure I want black or white...but not positive about staining either.

Don't know if you'll be able to see it or not, but I enjoy watching Chris and Noah go over his shapes, colors and numbers. This was just a little shape video! Have a great day!!

Once again....I'm behind!! But guess what? It's a new year! And hopefully I can do better.

Chris got me a new point and shoot camera for Christmas so I thought I'd unload them here today as a start!!

Since It's been a while, we'll start with baby Porter- No Middle Name - Thomas! This is the day we found out he was a "he" and not a "she"! As soon as we got home I had to pull out Noah's picture at this same appointment in 2008...they look identical!

Here's the chiferobe Chris and Papaw redid for Porters room. I can't find my before picture, but I will have to find it. The doors were sliding doors, the whole thing was open in the inside, and they cute the bottom area out for me so that I could use it as well since it was so deep! I am so very proud of it. I've gotta do a little caulking, and then it will be ready to load up.

Catching Up

I sure wish I could make a better effort at blogging everyday. It's my stress relief as well as preserving sweet memories. In my reading methods class last week, we talked about writing and finding ideas to write on. And to make a point to get your students writing and enjoying it, but that we have to do it also. I loved that 5-8pm time frame, not necessarily the other days so much. But I'm hoping that will keep me motivated to try to stay on top of things and really WANT to write...all the time. Yeah right, but can't blame me for trying.

So lately I've been feeling really guilty....with Chris (short tempered and rolling eyes is what he says), Noah (short tempered and just worn out, he's extremely too busy), and baby peanut (just can't sit down long enough (without passing out) to be able to keep up with anything or write anything down. They always say that it's completely different with number 2 and boy and I believing it. I know that I'm not really any tired-er, or sicker-er.....just that I have a 3 year old now to chase around when before.....no one to worry about....Chris knew how to fix his own dinner, get himself dressed and even use the potty without any help. I had it made huh!! No way, I wouldn't have it any other way today...just lots more energy. The good thing is, I'm just now starting to feel better. I will be 14 week tomorrow. I can f

inally get up in the mornings and not see how long it takes me to tinkle and get some kind of breakfast going before I was sick. And I am not a breakfast person. So this has been a big adjustment for me. With Noah, I was sick for about 5 weeks straight, sick every morning, but perfectly fine by lunch. And this time, I've been sick for about 7 weeks but not sick every morning...just morning sickness....well you could call it on and off all day sickness. And I think I've thrown up only twice that hasn't been from Noah's potty accidents or even good jobs! I've never had a problem with throw up, or boo boo or even pee, but oh man it's been bad this time. Chris and I fought over a mess the other day, and needless to say, I got out of it before Chris was cleaning up my mess too. Actually, Chris got sick in the car last weekend, and I felt horrible. I couldn't even get him out of his car seat. Luckily Chris was in town and came to help me. Talking about feeling guilty, I couldn't even help my little man for gagging my self. That was a horrible feeling.

And food....anything fried or with bread. I don't even know that I could eat anything with noodles right now, the thought grosses me out. With Noah I lived off chicken....mainly Cane's, and this time, it's been chocolate and anything fried. I have been so hungry....I'm embarrassed. I sure am glad that I'm kinda starting to feel myself again, becau

se I need to start walking. Specially since everyone keeps asking if I'm having twins!! :)

Two weeks ago we finally got to go meet the newest member of the Turner family....Baby Mason. Is he not precious? We enjoyed getting to visit and take some sweet family shots for them.

This past weekend we did little Brooklynnes 2nd birthday party pics. I love to do party pics, we always have so much fun!

And a few weeks ago we fished, ate, and went to the fair for Gigi's birthday. My pictures loaded up backwards, sorry!!

Life Lately

I have to start off my saying how excited I am that it hasn't been so darn HOT!! It's just now where we can get out with Noah and let him play on his fort without worrying about the heat! And he's such an outside kid!!

We had a quick visit with Jamie and the babies last week! I guess it's because they're getting older, but Noah and Alli got along so much better this time! And that's all Noah ever talks about is Alli! The other night he told me that Alli was crying because she wanted to come to his house....and when Jamie asked her if that was true she said "Yep!"! They miss each other and it breaks my heart to pass a cute little house and Noah get excited and say "Yay, we're going to Jay Jay's house?" Poor thing! But I'm still hoping and praying that soon enough they will be back around the Ruston area! Family First!!
And this past weekend, we had a little Halloween come out to stay! I love this time of year and all the sweet memories! Meet Dracula! Noah said "Dat my bef friend!" He loves this guy!
And we had pumpkin and scaredy cat shaped grilled cheese the other night! They were definitely a hit.
And then there's bath time!! We have a LOVE/HATE relationship with bath time!! We love it because it's a time to get in, play and let that little imagination run wild!! We hate it because he freaks on me for washing his hair, I almost have to get the shop vac out to get up all the water, and because he acts like he's FREEZING when he gets out and thinks that I'm suppose to hold him to dry him off!! I also love the nights that I go check on him in the bath just to find him missing. But then I happen to follow the little wet footprints to his bedroom to find him hiding!! Never a dull moment!

Last night he got our butt naked and runs to the living room and said "Mommy come look.....my numbers!!" He was oh so proud!!

I can't believe how much he's grown and how funny he is! Last night he walked up to me and for a quick moment, I saw him at 9 or 10 years old!! That was scary!

So our sweet friends Rachel, Nick and Madalyn found out they were pregnant the day after I did. We are two weeks apart, and I am so thankful to have that person to vent with that knows exactly what I'm going through! It will be a fun ride and I'm glad to be sharing it with her!!

Happy Hump Day!! I have my first class tonight, 5-9 and I'm so upset I'm gonna miss our Wednesday night dinners at Mrs. Glendas! I'll live, I have someone sneaking me a plate!!

First Appointment - It's Official

So it was a big laugh around family and friends about how far along I was before I saw Dr. Penebaker. My sister Jackie told me that she thought I was further along than her...she's due in NOV!! My friend Rachel kept telling me that I was about 8 weeks, and I couldn't help but laugh at all these guesses! So as she started the sonogram, I was extremely pleased to find out there was only ONE, no mom, it's not twins!! And then she announced the phrase everyone's been so anxious to hear....."7 weeks and 1 day, due April 4th!" I of course giggled. Rachel was oh so close!! And I really didn't think I would be that far along!! But hey, let the fun begin!! This visit was the real eye opener....took me completely out of shock mode....well shocked that I was pregnant....it was a whole different shock with all the money I will be owing all over again!! You forget about all those painful little moments.....money, morning sickness (just how bad it was), sleepless nights and thoughts racing constantly! But we are extremely excited about the journey we've been given.

When I picked Noah up from Dorthy's yesterday, we started talking about someone else we know that's pregnant, and how they have a baby in their belly too. As serious as could be, Noah said "I'm pregnant too, I have a baby in my belly!" After laughing, I asked what it was and he said a boy! He's hilarious! Sometimes I can't believe the things that come out of his mouth, not bad just silly!! Lately he's been doing the "I'm shy!" thing! It was cute and funny at first, but after going to Dorthy's for 3 years now and its not so funny having to drag him in because he's shy! It's mainly when there's already a parent there! And I can't say that we are completely potty trained, but we've got #1 down! It's #2 that is making Chris and I want to pull our hair out!! Oh my!! It would be fine if he would say, mommy I had an accident and when we'd get to the bathroom, it would all be there!!! NOT, we always have runaways!! I guess I've gonna have to start buying him the smallest undies out there, even if there cutting off circulation just for a little potty training sanity!!

He's also already started telling me that he doesn't want to get up in the mornings, "I sleeping!!" Actually this morning, I guess I nagged him so much about getting up that he left my room and went and climbed back in his bed and piled pillow and animals up over him so I wouldn't bother him!! Boy was he wrong!!

Well we have a busy Saturday planned. We have a bridal shoot in the morning and dinner with some friends that afternoon!! I love Friday nights with NOTHING going on!! It may be a pizza night, or mexican, or I guess anything I can get my hands on since I am ALWAYS HUNGRY!! Lord help me!! I'm about to gain all of Chris' 46lb. loss!!

{BIG NEWS}

Noah's gonna be a... BIG BROTHER!!

The timing with this was crazy! There were two times the week that I found out that I caught myself tearing up while looking at pictures of baby Noah and thinking about how much he's grown. I guess my body was trying to tell me something!

Chris and I decided in January to start thinking about baby number 2. Because I've never been normal when it come to "baby issues", my doctor have me a prescription to start taking monthly so that I will hopefully get normal. The funny thing is that I never even got to take them. I saw her June 7, started our 24 day challenge, headed to Dallas for Seminar, and just had not slowed down enough to drop it off. I finally got it taken care of and picked up last Friday (August 5th), and boy am I glad that it didn't cost more than $4! Before taking them, you have to take a test to make sure you're not already pregnant! Which is exactly what I did Saturday morning, expecting to be NEGATIVE!! Yep, I was SHOCKED!! I think I still am!

It happened to work out that ALL of my family would be in to have lunch and celebrate Jackie's passing her boards. So hey, what better timing!! So on our way to town, I kept asking Noah if he was gonna tell everyone that he was a big brother, and I kept hearing...."I'm a burger!" and I knew that there's no way anyone would have a clue what he was talking about. So at lunch, I bribed Noah with his sword to go over to daddy and tell him that his mommy was having a baby. Well Jackie thought he was looking for the baby, and she leaned over and said, "Noah I have the baby!", and he said "NO, my mommy has a baby!!" just as perfect as he could! At that point everyone figured it out!! He also told Mr. Clyde (Dorthy's husband) that his mommy has a baby! I think that really made it hit home! He's gonna be a good big brother!

I go to the doctor next Thursday, and will hopefully have an idea of how far along I am! Because I HAVE NO CLUE!! I haven't been sick yet, but some kinda hungry in the mornings, and I never eat breakfast! Let the fun begin!!

While I was enjoying my self, Noah and Chris were having a crisis! Noah was on his stool getting ready to brush his teeth, when he slipped off (with his boots on) and hit the corner of the counter top. Chris said it bled a long time and he was worried that it may need stitches at first, but after nurses Mamaw and Aunt Ann got a hold of it, it was just fine!! I think the tooth almost went through his lip. This is the outside this morning...

Whirlwind of Fun....Mary Kay Style!!

After getting back from my Seminar in Dallas, I just knew I could go to bed early and then wake up Sunday and be feeling much better with lots of energy! NOPE! I wasn't that lucky. I'm still getting over it and to top it off I've got a sinus infection right now. BUT, I'm still really excited that I went to my first Seminar and came back with lots of great information and tons of motivation! It was nice to see how people who have struggled and been in bad relationships come out on top with the help of Mary Kay. It's really not all about makeup. I think that so many people think that's all it is, but it's so much more! For me the most important thing is "Faith, Family then Career"! I love that....I think so many of us lose sight in what we love, dream and believe in when it comes to careers. It was also good to see the people who have never given up and the people that had brought in a $86,000 commission check. YES!! I can not stop thinking about that!!

While that's extremely nice to think about, I'm just hoping to be able to help pay things off, and get a free car. That way Chris can drive mine and have an AC. He's really been good about not complaining, but I just want to do it for him. We'll see what happens!

24 Day Challenge: Day 2

We survived day 1 and are 6 lbs lighter all together! We finished the day off with grilled tenderloin, corn and peas! Oh yeah and more water! I have felt so full all day from the water and spark. Honestly didn't know what to think about it all though. I sat and watched a movie with Chris and kept thinking that I needed to eat something...NOT! It's all in my head. I'm very proud of Chris and I. Although poor Chris used this analogy...."I normally eat the size of my hand, and I felt like all I had today was my thumb!" We've just gotta get adjusted! We can do it though! So we finished the night off with 5 horse pills and a note to get rid of these yummy peanut butter cookies from Sunday. They were taunting us!

Day 2: Ugh, just got chills all over again thinking about that darn fiber drink!! We got up again, and enjoyed our spark drink in full anticipation of the grueling step that was to come next! Once Chris got dressed, he mixed his up in 4 ounces of water this time instead of 8, and drank it right there instead of putting in the freezer to get it cold.....my bright idea. I had no clue that it GREW the longer it sat! So in a few gulps, he had his down......then it was my turn.......I tried! I really did! I mixed mine the same as his, took a drank and gagged.....took another drink and ....well you get the point. Chris even added a lot more water in hope to thin it out, NOPE, didn't work. I am so not a "chunk" person. Don't give me anything to drink that has hunks in it. I even attempted a straw in hopes that it would completely miss my mouth and head straight down my throat...NOPE, it got clogged! So needless to say, it went down the drain smooth as could be!! One more day then I get a break from it! The spark did at least pick me up! I had a banana, and grapes and pineapple again for breakfast. For lunch I had another salad, and guess what, it didn't kill me!! I had tenderloin and veggies left over, that way I didn't have to fix anything new! And actually Chris had it all packed up and ready to go for me! I think I'm gonna try my spark drink a little earlier today. I've been struggling everyday about 2:00 to stay awake, so maybe I can bypass that today.

So far so good. And honestly, even though it may seem like I'm complaining, this has by far been the easiest "diet", I've done. The only bad thing is the fiber drink, and I'm still working on it! I can't wait to see how we feel at the end of 10 days and then the end of 24!

Father's Day 2011

We had a great Father's Day weekend...busy as usual!

Look at my little man...a month from today he will be THREE!!! I can't believe how fast time's gone by. He's in such a fun, loving stage right now. He met me at the door last night and said "Hey Mommy!", just melted my heart...because I can see him doing the same thing at 18 and it will be here before I know it. These are those feelings where I can understand why legit families have lots of kids! Baby Noah's no longer a baby!
And Pops!! Those babies love their Pops! Actually, Noah will be staying the night with Pops to night and hanging out with him tomorrow since Dorthy's closed. Noah's already said he wanted to go in Pops boat! Sure hope Noah uses the potty tomorrow! It could be a long day for Pops! But I know they'll have lots of fun!
Then, after a quick, sweet picture with mommy, he decided to practice his casting skills!

And my other babies, that I didn't have to birth....all in one year! Alli P LOVES her Nanny! When she got to Gigi and Pops, Jay called and said that she was trying to cross the lake to get to me. Not sure what I did for her to LOVE me so much, but I'm eating it up! And then there's my sweet little Bubba! He's the best little baby. And he's starting to walk, especially to Alli!

24 Day Challenge: Day 1 (so far)

Yes, I gave in and asked for help...kinda! I had to do something and I plan on this being my (our) kick start. I drug Chris into it without asking and because he's an awesome husband, daddy and trooper, he agreed to do it with me. Instead of starting it in the middle of the week when we got last week, we decided to wait until today. So yesterday after our great Father's Day visits, and trip to Monroe, we hit up the grocery store for some veggies, fruit and protein! It's on now!! We stayed up and got everything ready for the next day. I was told by Chris that if it wasn't gonna be ready for him to just eat, then he would never be able to do. Needless to say, bedtime didn't roll around until about 12:30ish!! We had too much to do last night.

We set our alarms to get up together so that we could drink our spark energy drink and mix up our fiber drinks! Well the energy drink was pretty good! Nothing like the fiber! Chris took his with him to drink on the way to work. It's a good thing I didn't plan on doing the same. I first tasted it, and gagged. It was THICK!! Then I tried it again, and got a tiny bit down. Then I thought I'd outsmart that nasty stuff and mix it with a little Sprite Zero (sorry Nicole, telling on myself). The first big gulp went down fine, and I psyched myself up to think that I could do the rest........NOPE, didn't happen! I swear I think it was growing! It was still thick! After gagging about 3 more times trying to get the rest down, I gave up! For the day anyway! I will be buying nose plugs and spraying my throat with sore throat spray to numb it for tomorrow!! Just kidding, but I might!! After the FIBER issue....everything's been great. I really do like the spark drink. I didn't feel at all tired once I drank it and got going! I've been having a hard time getting up and going! When I got to work I snacked on grapes, strawberries and pineapple, and boy was it yummy!! We don't buy fruit that often, so it seemed like a treat! For lunch I had a can of tuna, salad (only lettuce and tomato-so not a veggie person) and a big water. I like that it's nothing crazy that I have to eat. It's just like any healthy meal, just not as much as we'd normally eat. So far so good! About 3:30 I'm gonna have my other spark drink, and snack on some fruit and nuts.

Oh and did I mention that Chris drank every bit of his fiber drink...ugh, I just got chills thinking about it. But that's why I needed him to do this with me...1. keep me accountable and 2. to beat him!! It's so much easier when someones doing it with you. And you know I'm eating that up!!

Woo Woo

We recently had a special guest show up to stay with us for Christmas. His name is Woo Woo, last name, Elf on the Shelf! While he's staying with us, he'll watch us all to make sure that we are all being good, and staying on the NICE list. And at night, he goes back to the North Pole to let Santa know! So every morning we get to look for Woo Woo, and boy does he have some great hiding spots. He says that Santa's going to bring him a "choo choo"! We told Santa that he wanted this one....

but from the look of this picture, you wouldn't think that he even looked at Santa :)

This year has been funny. He's been scared of a lot of Christmas toys. He freaks out when we turn on the Abominal snowman, or Mamaws singing hoot owl. And he's also freaked out by "crackers", AKA nutcrackers. When we come in in the afternoons, and daddy has the Christmas lights turned on he says "yay, daddy did it!", and if not, them we have to let him turn them on. He's even figured out how to turn on the Christmas tree. He was so proud of himself when he figured that out. Now he turns it off and on all the time! So if you happen to ride by our house and notice my tree flickering and acting funny, it's just Noah!! Here are a few sweet pics of him lately....

We had a fun Halloween! Noah went as Handy Manny this year. Chris made him a special tool box to carry around with his candy in it. We went to the TECH athletic carnival and then trick-or-treated with Alli and Walk Walk. This Thanksgiving was a real eye opener. I'm not sure why this Thanksgiving, but I actually just had a chance to sit back and realize all the things that we have to be thankful for, and all the ways that we are blessed!

I really miss being able to get on here and blogging all the time, but lately, my hands have been FULL!! I've decided to go back and get my Master's so that I can teach. And yes, there are times that I laugh at myself. When I graduated in 2004, I swore I was NEVER, EVER going back to school! Never, say NEVER! Here I am, and I absolutely can't wait. Have a good night!!

Wow, when they turn 2, time goes by even faster I think! Or maybe that's just the terrible 2's kicking in :) Although he's been wild and wooly, and he's mastered the fits...it's been incredibly FUN! I love watching all of his new adventures....

POTTY TIME!!
We haven't hit potty training head on yet, but we're working at it! Last night we caught him grunting, and caught him just in time to do #2 on the potty for the first time. Actually, we've never done anything on the potty yet so we are EXTREMELY proud! We had to give him M&M's at 8:00pm just for that! How embarrassing, I'm so excited about a poo!! The things we will do as parents!

He absolutely loves Dorothy and Mr. Clyde! I am so thankful for those two! They are an excellent team, especially when it comes to our babies! They love each and everyone of those kids! Lately Noah's been extra sweet at Dorothy's. He's been taking up for his friends when another kid is being ugly or stealing their toys! I'm so proud! I just wish he was that sweet at home :) ALL THE TIME!

He's been on a monster kick lately. And when we went to Lowe's the other day, they already had up their Christmas stuff.....well guess who he called a "mon-ter"....yep Santa Clause!! This year should be interesting.

Lately, I've been thinking about all the things we LOVE about Noah! I never in a million years thought that you could love a child so much. I'm amazed at how much he's grown since his first birthday....a little man now.

We put Noah in his big boy bed about April, and he's done so good!! We just got through redoing his room (yes it's only been 2 years since I last redid it) and we love it. This is his view when you walk in. Minus curtains...and the chiferobe now has chalk/magnetic boards in the doors.

Our main focus...stripes and sports! I love this wall! From left to right...Pops (my daddy), Papaw (Chris' dad) and Chris. It turned out perfect!!
And we also hold a lot of concerts in this room!!

We had such a great time for Noah's party. We decided to go with the Sesame Street/Elmo theme since he LOVES Elmo right now!! It rained all day and then cleared up right before the party which was great. We were hoping that the kids could go out on the deck and play. Noah had a blast. He just ran around and played and visited the whole time. The only time I think he had anything to do with me was for food and presents. As soon as I get a chance, I'll get good pics put up.

I have to admit, I'm a bit jealous that my 1 year old has more lips than I do! His daddy was so kind to bless him with those, which is exactly what I always said I wanted before I had him. I wanted him to have blond hair, blue eyes (like his Papaw), and those big ol' juicy lips!!

So on Saturday, he had a few accidents arise. First, he was trying to work out on my exercise ball when he rolled face first into the floor. We had a nice busted lip and even messed up his front right tooth. You can barely tell from this picture, but it's pushed back and up into the gums a little bit. But we got over that (well he did anyway) and went to stay with Pops and Gigi, where his block tripped him and busted his lip AGAIN!! He just didn't have a good day with those big things. Pops says that with lips that big, they're always going to be busted. :)

I'm not sure how he always seems to give me a crazy look, but he does it every time! I had to take this picture above of his red beans and rice and sausage. He went to take his first bite and picked out the sausage. So I picked out all of the sausage (for myself of course) and he began to eat. He also does his spaghetti O's and meatballs like this, but it works out great because the meatballs are my favorite :)! He also dipped his crackers in his dinner last night like us. He's so silly.

Here he is trying out his first sour, gummy worm. As he does with anything he eats...he practically swallows it whole. He will take a bite, chew a few bites then swallow and force it down. And he eats fast just like his daddy. I guess they both think that it will grow legs and run off their plates. Not sure!
And I hope Dorothy checks this post out. This is why Noah LOVES to aggravate. He gets it honestly! Yes it looks like a tight, sweet hug...but it wasn't!!

...well, most of the time :)!! I love this picture, it shows his chompers!!
And we're down to only knowing where 2 paci's are out of a bazillion. Which is OK, when we lose these two, there will be NO MORE!! And we're working on these. He knows that he only gets it for bed, and when he gets up in the morning, he drops it into his bed. I'm not sure why, but this one he always sucks upside down.
I Love his eyes...and check out his punk rock hair...which needs to be cut again! It grows like mine!
He's just recently learned to pucker for a kiss! It melts my heart!

Where to begin....

Snow Day: We really enjoyed our snow "week"!! Noah wasn't really sure what to think about it nor did he know how to walk in it. He really didn't care as long as he could be "owshide" (outside)! He loves to be outside, and we can't go to Mamaw and Papaws without him throwing a fit. When we pass their road (twice a day) he whines to go! So here are a few pics of the fun we had and Dolly Parton snow-woman we made!!

Little Biddy's: Jay and I decided to start sewing and try to make a little extra moo-lah for fun! So we call our little "business" if that's what you want to call it, Little Biddy's after our Grandmother. Since she's been busy with babies and more babies, I've decided to give her some time off. :) Before I could realize what I'd done, I was sewing like crazy for the Ruston Kool Kids sale as a vendor with some other ladies. They are awesome at painting canvas' and I stick with the sewing machine. On top of the dresses, bows and other things that I was making, Chris was building some children's picnic tables and getting them ready to sell as well. I was worn out none-the-less!! Here were some of my goodies..And if anyone's interested in a picnic table, please let me know. We are selling them for $100, and keep up with our etsy site at http://www.etsy.com/shop/littlebiddys. (there's only 1 thing on there right now, but I'm working on that now)

Noah: Wild and crazy....in a nutshell! He's getting so big. He's doing so good at his little flashcards that we bought him. He knows what everything is and the sounds. And he's talking good thank goodness. Although I think the word.."huh"...is about to get worn out. He's been a bit wild lately, but his life has been just as hectic as ours lately, so I'm hoping that everything and everybody will finally begin to slow down!!

FAT to PHAT: It's time...I'm finally to the point of being miserable, and tired of wanting to look like someone else. I've just got to get up and do something about it. I've told daddy that we'd do the Peach Festival run, so I've gotta get busy!! Here are the pics that reminded me that it was TIME!! I can't wait!!

1. he didn't want to just go to bed, he wanted me to rock him until he fell asleep...OR..
2. he wanted to watch "Elmo in Grouchland" every night in my bed. Well when we'd go put him in his bed, he'd all of a sudden be WIDE AWAKE and didn't want to be in his bed.!! So on top of these ISSUES, we've also been dealing with him waking up every night and wanting to get in bed with us!! And I'm not sure about all of you, but momma DON'T sleep between all the kicks in the face, or stomach, constant grabbing for him so that he won't climb off the bed (while he's still asleep), or from all the blood rushing to her head when she's literally hanging off the bed! After about 2 weeks, we'd had enough...It was time to get back in our routine again. And keep inmind when I said that WE had been dealing with it, I really mean ME, because I remember many times where I'd be trying to get Noah back to sleep in the living room, mainly so that we wouldn't wake daddy up, and I could here him sawing logs in the bedroom!!

Well last night I learned something...All he needed was his daddy! About 7:40, Chris took him to his room, I came in and got my kisses, left out and before I knew it, Chris was coming out and we never heard another word from Noah!!! WHAT?? It was that easy all this time? I told him that it was now called "Daddy Night Duty"! Before we went to bed I told him that if Noah woke up, I was going to let him take care of it amd I don't think he really believed me. But guess what, first sign of crying, I rolled over and kicked him (politely of course) and told him that Noah needed him:), and I sleep great all night!! I LOVE IT!! Thanks Chris!! You are an excellent daddy and husband and we are so VERY thankful for you!!

So this morning he wanted to watch "melmo" and so he didn't get to watch it last night I turned it on for him. The video is of him and his favorite part. "Elmo's BEST friend"!! He was in a great mood this morning!

We still have a small runny nose, but besides that, he's COMPLETELY back to himself...WILD and WOOLY!! So much so that he wore Dorothy out yesterday. She said she had to get on her eliptical last night and walk it off!! Hmm, maybe I need a magical eliprical!

I had to take Noah to the ENT yesterday. He's been pulling at his ears, sticking his finger in them, coughing and lots and lots of green snot (sorry!!) He's got an ear infection (yes with tubes), and Dr. Neal thinks that we've probably had an upper respiratory infection. So, back on antibiotics, ear drops and nose drops!! Fun Fun!! I feel like I'm torturing him as I try holding his head, and arms still and I'm spraying the nose drops everywhere except where it needs to be!!

We're so glad it's Friday. Tomorrow we're going to Monroe so that Chris can get fitted for a tux for his brother's wedding in February. For those of you who didn't know, he's getting married and to a wonderful, precious girl named Chelsea!! Noah and I are tagging along so that we can go to Target and Hobby Lobby. Sorry Guys.

2010....ALREADY!!! It's so hard to believe! This was our Christmas 2009 cousin picture! Little Noah's getting so big! He talk all the time now, but half of it you can't understand. He likes to say "hat, dada, papaw"! The other night he repeated "booty"....I've gotta watch what we say now! And he's been saying "of vue" for I love you! He's so much fun right now, all over the place and never sitting still! As Chris says, "ALL BOY"! He likes to climb on the ottoman and fall off head first onto his little couch, and not scared of anything! We have our hands full!!

...this will never happen again! Look how sweet!
We took some pics last weekend of Miss Alli P. Isn't she the cutest little red head you've ever seen! Always smiling and laughing!!
And my little man still trying to figure out his tricycle. Chris didn't like this little outfit, but it was handed down and I couldn't pass up a few pics in it! I thought he was still precious!
From there we did Cookies with Santa at Doodlebugs! It didn't go quite like we'd expected...assuming that Noah would freak out and Alli would be ok....boy were we wrong....
She wanted nothing to do with him and Noah was intrigued! Anytime he was holding him, he would stiffen up, but he never cried.
This were both checking him out.
On Sunday we took some pictures of Noah's buddy Owen. He will be 1 year old in January. He's so cute!

Surgery update

He did great. His ears must've been stinging last night when I put his ear drops in, because he cried and cried...until I could get his mind off of rubbing them.

First thing...he was not liking the bracelet. He tried and tried to get that thing off!
Then when we got to the back we were asked to change into a hospital gown...I've never seen one this little. And of course we took a liking to the pole and attempted to pull it off.Then we rocked....and as you can see, we had to put his shoes back on because he doesn't know what it means to sit still.

We played games with daddy.
Then came the drowsy meds....I've never seen his sit this still before.giving his mommy some lovin..

We finally got another haircut!

I wanted to make sure that I got Noah's hair cut before our Snow Day pictures on Sunday. He's got a friend at Dorothy's named Owen. Owen's mom Caitlin cuts hair, so I called her on short notice and she did have an opening. He did really good too. He flirted with all the ladies in there, and ate suckers, m&m's and a moon pie! Whatever works right?

When we got done...he had to walk around the salon and talk to everyone. It was like we feel as women...you know when you get a good haircut and you feel good...that was him! He was so happy and wild and talking like crazy! He felt HOTT!! Thank you so much Caitlyn for this sweet little haircut. We can't stop talking about it! Please say a prayer for my little man this weekend. We are having his surgery Monday morning to get tubes put in. I hope he feels much better after all of this. Have a great weekend. Ours will be busy...girls shopping trip today, shots in the morning, a few photo shoots, our Snow Day shoot on Sunday, and surgery Monday!

for CHRISTMAS? I can't wait. It becomes so much more special with children in our lives. I've already put up our work tree. Chris is planning on getting the house lights up this weekend, then next week I will put all of our inside stuff up...if I can wait that long! We have 37 days, 5 more weekends until Christmas! I can't wait for all the exciting stuff that goes on between now and then.

My little man is growing up so fast. Yesterday on our way home, I was asking him where dada was and he said "dada home", but it sounded like "dada hum"! He's trying. He can talk all day long, you just can't tell what he's saying. He had a very serious conversation with me this morning about picking up his chocolate milk cup off the floor. It went on for about 5 minutes before he would finally pick it up! And he's Chris made over...not only for all of the talking, but also aggrevating. Well Ithink he also gets that from his Pop, but either way! He will run up to you and act like he's going to give you something or to hug you, and just as soon as you bend over...he's GONE, and laughing! Little toot. He loves the itsy bitsy spider, and can do the whole thing with his hands. He also loves the wheels on the bus, and dances....all of a sudden, he's dancing non-stop! I love it! He's getting so sweet and fun! All we need now is a haircut!!

Last night was our first Tech Halloween Carnival! We had a great time. He wasn't bothered by his outfit, scared of anyone, or even very fussy!! He did great! We were called a lot of things...frog, dinosaur...but we are indeed a MONSTER! I'll let Noah tell the story!! The first thing I noticed when we walked in was the balloons...they were everywhere. Daddy took me to play the balloon dart game and we did great. We popped 2 balloons. Becuase I was alittle hungry, I tried to taste the last dart before daddy threw it, but the boys gave me some candy instead.
Then we ran into TECH, our mascot. He didn't look to excited about being there. I took a picture with him....

and talked to him to make him feel better!! He's so sweet!
Then daddy and I made our way to the baseball players. I got to throw the ball. The guy behind the net said that I threw it 10mph. He was just being nice! But I'll get it one day!

We decided to take a few pics at the Townsend House ...aka...Pumpkin Patch! Needless to say...this is only round one!! He didn't cooperate at ALL!! I will be out of town this weekend, but Chris plans on making another attempt....without ME!! Poor thing!!
The Thomas house has been wild lately! The family just had a two day garage sale that we've torn our house upside down to find things to sell. We've just thrown a shower for a really good friend, which as you all probably know by now...when a shower or party is on the way...my "craft" room...aka...dining room becomes a disaster area. I'm headed out to Charlotte on Friday for work. And I am also taking classes. I've decided that I want to go back to teach. So I am taking classes and trying to get back into the alternate certification program. Ugh...the last time I took the ACT was in 2000...and all I needed was a 20 for TECH. I just took it again and I do NOT remember it being that HARD! I bombed it with a 19!! Broke my heart, I need a 22 for the program...so try try try...again! I sure hope that I can get it...this is embarrassing!

Is this my baby?

I can't get over the fact that he's not a baby anymore. He's huge and growing so so fast. He's built like his daddy and papaw. And he's really smart...maybe a little too smart for his on good sometimes! This morning, I had my hands full, and instead of Noah getting up and walking out the door with me, he decided that he wanted to crawl out with his favorite car. so I decided to leave him, put the stuff in the car and go back to get him. Well, I didn't even have my stuff in the car, and I looked up and saw him open the front door, and walk right on out....he was NOT going to be left!

We had a nice labor day! We got to hit the lake for a little bit! Noah loves to drive the boat.

That morning after breakfast, Noah got to color...all over himself! I love these baby markers that come right off! Although, I was a little freaked when I turned around and he had a BLACK mouth!

Saturday we had a day in Monroe...Mamaw, Chelse, Bob, Jay Jay, Alli, Mommy, Daddy and Noah.

And Noah got to ride the carousel for the first time.
Good thing I looked up at this time....he was just about to bite off her little fingers.

We have such a sweet, calm morning boy! And he LOVES to see daddy before he leaves for work. I think he looks forward to seeing his daddy peep around the hall corner into his room!!

Where to begin?

Jay and I have recently started up an Etsy account. If you haven't visited the site...do so! It's different shops to sell handmade things. You can visit us at littlebiddys.etsy.com. We love to get creative, and this is right up out alleys. So please keep us in mind if you are ever looking for a special, creative gift. We are still trying to add products.
My child is getting his first haircut on Friday! I've gotten to the point where I CAN NOT keep putting it off! He has a mullet! I just love when his hair curls up around his ears. He will look like such a big boy! I can not forget to load up on suckers before we go to Rae Rae's shop!
I invited my neice Miranda and Cristy's little girl Emily to come stay with me last Friday night! It was a night they will never forget, nor will I. It was a lot of fun having girls around because they let me do their make-up, fix and tease their hair. Can't do that with a little boy, or at least not when daddy's around :)! But I can't figure out how they looked all cute, and they made me look like I'd just stepped out of a glitter horror movie!!
The Tech water tower came down today (sorry the video below is sideways). I don't have any special memories with it, but there are many people that consider it a big part of campus and will really miss it. It was up when my dad was here...a LONg time ago! (but don't tell dad I said that)
My child has gone crazy! He's ALL BOY! He's not walking yet, except when he wants to, but he is all over the place. He's eating like a big boy. He had a whole quesadilla the other night. He loves food. And at Dorothy's, he's been napping in the same room as his friend Landry. She said that they will lay down for about 15 minutes and then they get real loud to wake the other one up and they sit and talk and shake the beds like crazy! She said they do not nap anymore. He's found a partner in crime, until Alli gets big enough!

And Dorothy said that yesterday, she caught him climbing on the table that the kids eat at ALL day! She said, he's not scared of anything!! Oh...HELP ME!!

Yesterday afternoon after dinner and a bath, we went outside to watch Papaw and daddy mowe! Don't that sound so exciting? Well for him it was amazing, he was so intrigued. He kept yelling at them and of course I kept snapping away. He loved it! He didn't want to go back in!

And for those of you who haven't heard the exciting news yet.....Baby Alli is going to be a BIG SISTER!! We were all a little shocked, but extremely excited and blessed! Congratulations Jay, Lance and Alli!
